Urban commuters in India often juggle between multiple apps such as Ola, Uber, Rapido, and even platforms like Namma Yatri to secure the best deal on cabs, autos, and bike rides. Addressing this hassle, the newly launched Bob Rides app, a Bengaluru-based mobility startup, aggregates all major ride-hailing platforms into a single, user-friendly interface.
Founded by Jai Adithya Poorana (Christ University alumnus) and Ansh Arora (AWS-certified CTO), Bob Rides has quickly become a game-changer since its September 1 debut. The app enables users to enter their drop location and instantly compare autos, cabs, and bikes from all top providers, completing bookings without leaving the platform. This seamless experience saves both time and phone storage, offering a “Skyscanner for rides” built for Indian cities.
Unlike competitors, Bob Rides does not offer its own fleet but acts as an “aggregator of aggregators,” empowering users to access Ola, Uber, Rapido, Namma Yatri, and more, in one place. On the tech front, the company leverages React Native and Node.js for integration, while ensuring privacy by only sharing necessary commute info with partners and encrypting sensitive payment details.
Since its launch, Bob Rides has attracted 9,000+ users, with 5,000 daily active users, and is already live across India—with a strong focus on Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Delhi. Its hyperlocal “Parcels” delivery beta is set to roll out soon, alongside plans to expand into food delivery, events, and quick commerce.
Bob Rides operates on a partnership-driven model, taking a revenue share for each ride booked through the app, and will soon introduce a unique “Fastest Ride” feature with a nominal convenience fee. The company has so far relied on bootstrapping and grants from Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, totaling $300,000—giving it a 10-month runway. Though investors have shown interest, the founders are currently focused on growth milestones before seeking external capital.
With a vision to become India’s leading “mobility super app” and align with Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), Bob is poised to fundamentally improve everyday commuting for Indian riders and drivers alike.
