US-based HCA Healthcare, Inc. has opened its first Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad’s HITEC City, pledging a massive $75 million (₹625 crore) investment by the end of 2025 and planning to hire 3,000 people by 2026.
The 400,000 sq.ft. LEED-certified facility at Sattva Knowledge Park will drive digital transformation and support HCA’s operations across 191 hospitals and 2,500 care sites in the US and UK. The Hyderabad center will focus on technology, supply chain, HR, finance, and procurement, acting as a strategic engine for both operations and innovation.
At the inauguration, Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu praised Hyderabad’s role as a global healthcare and life sciences hub, home to over 800 pharmaceutical firms and several major GCCs. HCA Healthcare’s leaders, including Emily Duncan (SVP, Global Capability Network) and Atul Kapoor (VP, Hyderabad Center), emphasized the company’s mission to use India’s talent pool for high-quality patient care and operational excellence.
HCA’s GCC entry strengthens India’s position as a hotspot for US-based capability centers, with the sector already employing over 300,000 professionals. The Hyderabad facility will initially hire 1,100 employees this year and rapidly expand to meet its workforce targets.
Founded in 1968, HCA Healthcare has pioneered advanced hospital care models through research-driven protocols that improve clinical outcomes. The new Hyderabad center marks a milestone in the company’s global expansion and digital innovation ambitions.
