Gautam Adani Launches ‘Vande Bharatam’ to Discover and Fund India’s Grassroots Innovators

Marking his 64th birthday, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has announced the launch of Vande Bharatam, an ambitious nationwide movement built to find and support hidden entrepreneurial talent across the length and breadth of India.

While India currently boasts one of the most vibrant startup ecosystems globally, the landscape remains highly centralized. Statistics show that upwards of 80% of all startup founders emerge from just five major metropolitan cities. Vande Bharatam aims to completely democratize this space by opening a direct pipeline of opportunity for innovators in small towns, tier-2/3 cities, and rural communities.

An All-Inclusive Search Across 800+ Districts

The scope of Vande Bharatam is uniquely vast. The hunt will extend across all 36 States and Union Territories, cutting through geographic, linguistic, and socioeconomic barriers.

Unlike conventional startup incubators, the initiative has kept its entry requirements entirely open. There are no age limits, educational bars, or industry restrictions. Whether an applicant has a simple concept, a working prototype, or an early-stage business, they are eligible to apply. Crucially, having a formally registered startup is not a prerequisite to join.

The program features dedicated application pathways explicitly designed to champion underrepresented builders, including:

• Rural and community-based innovators
• Women entrepreneurs
• Tribal and indigenous founders
• Divyang (differently-abled) entrepreneurs

The sectors are equally diverse, spanning advanced technology, sustainable manufacturing, localized agricultural solutions, and traditional crafts.

From the Soil of Bharat to Ahmedabad

Reflecting on his own journey while launching the initiative, Mr. Gautam Adani shared a deeply personal note:

"When I began my journey, I had nothing. Everything I am and everything I have achieved was given to me by the soil of Bharat. There is no shortage of talent in our nation, but opportunity has not always reached every corner of the country.

Vande Bharatam is our effort to discover the innovators, problem-solvers, and entrepreneurs whose ideas deserve recognition, support, and a larger platform. If I can do it, any Indian can do it. All they need is an opportunity and a stage."

The Roadmap: Mentorship, Capital, and the Grand Finale

Following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process judging scalability, impact, and uniqueness, 75 standout finalists will be selected from across the country.

These 75 innovators will be brought to Ahmedabad for an immersive, high-intensity residency program. There, they will receive direct mentorship from corporate leaders, interact with top-tier industry experts, and pitch to prominent investors. The program will also offer prize money and category-specific financial grants.

The movement will culminate in a national Grand Finale around Independence Day, establishing a permanent, ongoing network to help these grassroots ideas scale into sustainable, job-creating enterprises capable of fueling India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 growth goals.

Acclaimed actor, television host, and entrepreneur Rajeev Khandelwal has officially stepped into the role of Ambassador and Host for Vande Bharatam, lending his national platform to celebrate and amplify the stories of these everyday heroes.
